Ugh. Last night I was in bed with lights off at 10:30. And 11:00. And 11:30. And 12:00. And 12:30. It was awful. I ended up messing around on the internet from 12:30 - 1:30, and finally fell asleep for another fitful night. These are not good sleeping days.

Ugh, insomnia is the worst.
If you ever want to try a trick that works for me:
Stare at one thing in the room and do not let your eyes close. Ever (well, except to blink of course). No matter how much they want to close, don't let them. Fight it as much as you can. Before you know it you'll be waking up in the morning.
Seriously, it works. Sounds bizarre, but it does work.
Hope you sleep better tonight!
I like that reverse psychology technique above. Trying to sleep can be dull, especially when you really need it.
I thought I had perfected my sleeping technique, after years of insomnia. It involves a sleep mask, so I don't think I can try the staring technique. Also, my vision is terrible, so when I have no contacts and no glasses (also part of my sleeping technique), I can't see the clock on my bedside table, nevermind anything else in the room.
I really don't have insomnia anymore... I had it completely licked. BUT, then I started drinking caffeine again after two years off of it, and that is probably the problem.
