Hola mis amigos ...
I've got a post on hold till a video uploads to my blip.tv account. While it's doing its thing, I had a look at the stats for this site and wanted to share ...
In the past few short days, we've got a quite a bit of an international following. How cool is that? And I see we're getting traffic from ted.com (thanks to a shout out from Lynne). In the grand scheme of things, this means very little, but how cool is it that a silly little idea a few of us had less than a week ago has blossomed into whatever this is blossoming into?

Day 2 Mitzi G Burger By the Sea
I used the time difference to get a head start on my 30 days, which started on July 11, yesterday.
Yesterday I met the ocean as it pours into Botany Bay, which was especially a relief after a recent inland road trip, and feeling a little land-locked.
Facing eastward, a view of the distant ocean through the heads.
Sparkly morning sun, enthusiastically shining to the point of blindness. Another reminder of why you can't leave the house without sunglasses in Sydney. The mighty metropolis in the background. It's a 20 minute train ride north, or a 15-25 minute drive, depending on traffic.
I walked for about 40 minutes. Lots of respectable nodding and saying "morning" to strangers.

30 Days — T-1
Well this is shaping up to be pretty cool. We've got eight confirmed 30-dayers (with a few more on the fence) from at least three different continents. Even cooler, we've had page visits from all over the world and the site hasn't even been up yet for 24 hours.
Should be a fun 30 days. Still plenty of time to join in. Just give me a shout and do something new for 30 days. What are you waiting for?

Mitzi G Burger By the Sea
A nannosecond's hesitation, and I was in. For days I have been champing at the winter bit. The season is chilly and brittle, but the beaches are salty and sultry as ever.
My thirty day challenge is a daily walk beside the sea. Not a walk from coffee shop to the car, nor from the newspaper shop to a splintering bench; but a committed stroll of twenty minutes or more beside the sea.
An Australian winter harbours no excuses. In the dead centre of July, when the winds are whipping upwards from Antarctica, I am going to stand beside the sea and say, G'day, I'm zapping with currents too.

30 Days — T-2 (the concept)
Here's the deal. I saw this Matt Cutts talk on ted.com and want to make it happen.
This is a group blog. We're going to try something new (or get into the habit of something old, or maybe NOT do something) for 30 days starting 12 July 2012. Anyone can play, just send me a message to join in. If you want, post what you do for the next 30 days. No pressure, no judgments, just a record of what we accomplish.
